Bob Schulenberg by Toni Kochensparger

35 mm, 2017 | I had the pleasure of photographing legendary illustrator Bob Schulenberg for a project with Dale Dobson. Loads of thanks to David Savage and Andrea Salvini, who curated an incredible exhibition of Schulenberg's sketchbooks in conjunction with their Paul Bartel film retrospective. Bob was a friend of Bartel's and producer of his early films. We shared a cab ride together after the gallery opening and subsequently arranged to spend a little half-hour of shooting before the Secret Cinema screening, where he charmed me over and over again and told me secrets, where he cast magic.
